Following the rise in the price of rice, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, lawmaker representing Bayelsa east senatorial district, has said it is time to increase the minimum wage.

The prices of commodities like imported rice, maize, beans, palm oil and others rose as a result of restrictions on imported commodities.
A 50kg bag of imported rice is currently selling between N16,857 and N20,000
He took his Twitter account to express his views on the matter.
